For anyone who has ever wondered what a sissy stick is, or how its used, this might explain

I'd rather it was called the 'sensible stick' for all those young people that may not want to appear 'sissy' :)
As a man who has managed to remove one finger tip and deglove another (neither time chopping sticks) I tend to agree. I'm certainly very happy to use one

Now, take a solid two handed grip of whatever whacking tool you are using. It makes a lot harder losing a finger, of course you can always hit your knee but that can be easily done with one handed grip too. :angelic2:

That’s what it’s called, used one for years to chop wood and all fingers intact!
That's what I've always known it as too - its not stopped me using one. I understand why people prefer another term though.

"Sensible stick"?
