The barter system dead or alive !

you think that's personal, how about this one:

Last weekend I was commissioned to make a knife for a chap as a working knife and family heirloom. He wants me to inlay his son't milk teeth and a part of one of his own ribs into it! :yikes: Apparently he asked a few other makers if they would/could do it and they all pointed him in my direction. :yelrotflm

Ha. I've pointed a few in your direction.

We barter knives and tools for food mostly. Most of our meat is bartered. Always with local farmers. Great thing is we know it's organic and healthy.

When we go for extended treks I always bring along some carving tools. The odd adz or hook knife has come in handy for a boat ride or food and has pulled us out of some rougher situations.
