The alternative birch bark container

  • Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
I cut a piece of green birch and hollowed it out using my knife, by pushing the point into the end grain and rotating it. once halfway through, I started from the other end. Due to the poor quality birch bark, i left a thin layer of wood on the inside to strengthen it.

Thats a really nice piece of work there Fenlander. I love ideas that come from "sideways thinking".

Don't be tempted to keep your fire making kit in it though. Left near the fire it wouldn't be long before some "helpful soul" mistook it for a log in the dark and fed the fire with it! :twak:
