My recent bout of ditch digging resulted in the spoil being levelled out over a large area, as they hadn't been done properly for a while. There's a lot of sticky clay which isn't very good for plants to grow in. However, the moles have set to work and are pushing topsoil back to the top:

I'm sure the plants underneath will eventually push up and the dynamic accumulators such as dock will help to rebuild the soil too but it's nice to see the useful side of a creature many regard as a pest

Mixed in with some of that nutrient rich sediment, it would be good for any plant. I love to see molehills, my local cricket pitch groundsman would definitely disagree. :censored:
