Thinking about getting a Tentipi (9 man) for 4-5 people in comfort to use with the larger Hekla Fire Box.

- Looks like a decent bit of kit however comes at a hefty price!
- Thoughts on using a firebox in tent?
- Materials - breathable heavyweight or non breathable lightweight?

Any advice, thoughts, feedback by current users much appreciated

Hi Gary
I have the Safir 7 heavyweight. It is far and away the best tent I've every come across and well worth the money if you can stretch to it. Had all sorts of open fires and chimeneas inside, with varying degrees of success. Generally good but I do now have sooty deposits inside the upper third of the tent which are hard to shift. In the end I splashed out on the Eldfell stove and have never looked back. It is silly money all round, but we don't B&B anymore, and found that this winter when it was at least minus 6, it was warmer in the tipi than the pub. I have friends who play in bands and will happily shell out Tentipi money on a new piece of kit.
