Just up the pegs, if they’re like the bits of bent coat hanger that came with my Banshee they won’t hold a tent down on Lundy.
This ^^^^^^^^. and there have been several links to tents recently.

Why do tent manufacturers who design some superb and very expensive tents, supply such crap tent pegs.

Who uses them except for camping on the lawn in good weather.

I’m away from my camp kit just now but I’ll add a photo of the very wide range of pegs that I have tried over many years.

Six inches of bent wire is not among them.

Some years ago on a wet Easter camp the guys in the next tent didn’t stand a chance. The wire just spun in the mud and pulled out. It took a couple of minutes to take a hatchet to some of my fire wood and make some pegs with a decent grip.

So:
Does anyone use the bent wire pegs?
What have you found that works best in general? In mud? In rocky ground?

Is it worth contacting manufacturers on the subject? I think I’d rather buy a tent that was labelled “pegs not included” than add to the huge collection of meat skewers and bits of fencing wire in my cellar,

My main problem with wire pegs is cheap or unsuitable materials and them bending easily and limited holding power in certain conditions. I no longer use them for tents, I might use one to peg out an extra line somewhere, but I have switched to better designed pegs.

I bought some pegs made by DAC they were v channel shaped along their length and are extremely robust for their weight. These have been good all-round performers, I have used them in all conditions wet and muddy, dry and sandy soil, rocky soil although lightweight aluminium pegs are never going to be great in rocky ground.

If you want something super robust SnowPeak make heavy steel pegs of varying lengths, the longer ones have outstanding holding power but are only really suitable for large tents. You can hammer the Snow Peak pegs into most ground without damage.

I think it's a bit of a double-edged sword for manufacturers, most people just want a tent you can unpack and pitch so they just throw in any pegs vs the hassle of the extra charge for decent pegs.
Higher end manufacturers tend to include decent pegs, I bought a nemo tent recently and the pegs were good and the tent before that was a NorthFace which had very strong wire pegs.

I think my 30 year old TNF Starfire (or whatever version) came with very thick wire hook pegs.

I’ve had a few cheap ground sheets with crap pegs.

I have some alu v or tri pegs that came with a £14 AliExpress poncho. They are just like my Alpkit ones.

DoD plastic stakes still work.

I think I have some Arktis(?) screw pegs which I seem to recall being okay in turf but crap for elsewhere. Okay to sleep on the golf course then!
