I've had one of their Barlows for a couple of years: not a bad little knife, reasonable finish and pretty sturdy (although it doesn't lock it was still solid enough to take a batoning in France when I was short of firewood and lacking my hatchet) and certainly worth the price. Admittedly I bought this particular one because getting any sort of a Barlow these days is hard work (must be out of fashion) but I'm happy with it as a general purpose pocket knife.

Used a Taylor's Lambfoot knife for years in my part time farmworking days...ideal for string cutting and all the other little jobs....it's still around somewhere. Tend to prefer fixed blades nowadays or the superior edge of an Opinel...

My first "proper" pen-knife when I was about 10 years old was an Eye Witness, a little double ended 2 blader, much like a Victorinox Pocket-Pal, I still have it and its in pretty good order for its age and the time its spent with me (and the fairly horrendous uses its been put to over the years - I suppose nobody plays "splits" anymore, do they?).
If their present line up is as well made they should be more than OK.

They're nice pocketknives but I prefer the K-Bar Stockman, although it does have simulated antler scales. Very sharp, keeps a good edge and fits nicely next to my SAK in a belt pouch.

Yep, I remember playing, far corner of the playing field on the hedge line out of sight of the prefects. :D Criminal use of a good knife. When I was at school slip on shoes with a small elastic side panels were in fashion. From experience elastic does not stop a thrown knife. It's one way to learn about sharp things. I bet something just as foolhardy has replaced splits in schools now blades are banned. Rock on.

I've got a couple of old Eye Witness knives myself....

Both have seen better days but there still going strong.

The oldest one is a double bladed pen knife....donkeys years old

You can still just about see the makers mark :)

Solid feeling wee thing, still snaps open and shut with a satisfying click.

The other one i was given 20 odd years ago by an old guy i worked with at the time, who bought two and kept one for himself.

It's not pretty but the carbon steel takes and holds a reasonable edge. Mine has been used and abused and has rattled around in a tool box for years :)
