Do you use Taxis?
If so how often?
Do you use them for urban or rural use?
Is it regular often events ( Pub runs ) or irregular once a Year ( Airport pickups and drop offs )
If you had a choice would you make a conscious effort to use electric based vehicles over petrol/diesel?

I occasionally use Uber for the sake of convenience, though I’m no fan of their business model. I tend to use them if I’m meeting friends or colleagues for drinks, though that’s a rare occurrence since having children.

In all honestly, I have never considered prioritising electric, though many of the Uber vehicles seem to be plug-in hybrids (Toyota Prius, etc).

Used to use them often when I lived closer to the city. Now just use them occasionally.

My main preference is a driver who does not drive like they’re trying to win Silverstone. Been in a few taxis recently where I have asked them to slow down because they’re driving so quickly and dangerously. I’ve noticed this seems to be more of an issue with younger drivers who perhaps didn’t initially learn to drive in the UK. Though this is just my experience in this area, because that isn’t a connection I’d have made when I have lived elsewhere. In London last week, for example, I had a young uber driver who was absolutely lovely. A gent throughout and remarkably wise given he was probably about 21. More together than I was at that age for sure!

I want to get there safely and ideally have a relaxing journey, not have my life risked just to get there 2 minutes faster.

Vehicle/fuel type I don’t really care as long as it’s comfy and clean.

This matches my views.

I would probably use more taxis if I didn’t feel at risk when I do.

If there’s a pub trip I would now rather not drink and be the driver than have to use one, for example.

I used a taxi, for the first time in 25 years, last year to go to a gig locally; the fare, both ways, cost more than the ticket & my drinks….no wonder I don’t go out much!

Wots a taxi? :)
Havnt used one for well over 10 years. My nearest taxi firm is 15 miles away, so the cost is stupid.

Oh, tell a lie, had one home from hospital..25 miles, £85 , and that was before covid. Horrible driver, scared me silly.
Long story, which i wont bore you all with. I don't like paying to be scared, he even insisted on snatching my phone off me untill I got home and paid him. I had a Broken foot, so couldn't run, even if he had stopped. Never again!!!! Have heard prices have gone up even more now, so I use the bus, and my shiny new oap bus pass...free...for now at least.
