Hi All!

So basically me and the guys are heading for our first wilderness trip to Sweden in 2 weeks! I have been planning to go as traditional as possible with my oilskin tarp, however now I'm thinking, means as we will be canoeing it's very possible that it is going to be very windy at times. So I'm curious what you guys think I should do? I don't wanna be battered by the wind when I'm trying to sleep but I also don't really fancy a tent as it's not my thing, I'm ground dwelling by the way!

Thank Peeps!

My experience of Sweden is that you will be really unlucky to get any troubling winds, a lean to should be the most you need. The wind will be most appreciated as it'll keep the bugs off. All these windsheds just give a space of still air for the bugs to reside in.

If it really comes in, I'd recommend turning the canoe upside down and lash the tarp over that.

Teepee is on the right lines here, use your paddles to prop up your canoe on its side, then secure the 3x3 over the top. This Provides a good strong shelter and wind break.
Hope you have a great time.
