Youngsters who were taken to farmyards or petting zoos within the first year of life were 52 per cent less likely to have developed asthma by the age of six.

I interesting. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I grew up on the farm (and with dogs) but still had asthma as a child. I did outgrow it around age 9 though and I suspect the country living facilitated that.
