Oh very nice :) very practical shapes too :D

How do they last ? chestnut's known to split...I have a spinning wheel and a carved backed spinning chair made from chestnut, and the man who made the set said that turning the legs was a beggar of a job. One of the chair legs was split and has been repaired with dowel pins and glue.

That said, he promised when we bought the set from him nearly thirty years ago that he would repair any subsequent splits, and it's never been necessary.

Seems to be ok for longevity, ive made others which we use quite often and they are still going strong

Another fine looking pair of spoons. Ring porous wood like chestnut and ash does have a tendency to retain staining in the growth ring pores, but you have circumvented this by making a pair - one for stirring brown things, and one for stirring light coloured things!

Good job!
