Swedish Coat I.D. please

Hello , can anybody here help identify this Swedish Coat please?

I only know it's Swedish surplus because of the three crown logo on it, but that's all I know.
I guess it's a navy coat judging by the anchor on the buttons,
It'd be nice to find out the model and issue year... perhaps value too?

It's Swedish uniform jacket m/39-58 ("vapenrock m/39-58") with coastal artillery ("kustartilleriet") insignia. The manufacturing year should be marked on the lining with ink. These jackets are being sold for a few pounds in the Internet.

Several 'models' are very difficult to distinguish. During WW2 (Sweden was woefully unprepared) they changed the most modern uniform, m/38 several timrs, adopted it for specific parts of the Defense Forces.
Many units even had to use the very, very utdated M/1895, the very outdated m/ 1906 and the outdated m/1910 in the beginning. Or even a mix if those.

The value of the m/38 today, if you do not mind the scratchiness ( wool) for a thrifty bushcrafter/ trekker is huge, as they last indefinitely.

I think it's the m39-58 judging by the different hue rear pockets. Added to make it compatible with the m58 system.
Unless I'm mistaken and the navy/coastal artillery used a different model number for it. Then Janne might be on the money.
A fairly useful piece of kit. Getting more scarce at least in sweden but not unobtainable by a long shot.
Get the trousers too. Rellay good in crackling cold.
Searching for m39 will get you more info I think.

I have one, also with the anchor buttons. It was bought with the papers still attached, so new old stock. As Janne says the base jacket is an M42 pattern Swedish Navy jacket BUT, as others have mentioned, it's received at least some of the modifications* that the Swedes performed on their uniforms and come under the banner M39/58 (even the modified M36 clothing is termed in this way).


* This is why the colour of the wool pockets on jackets and trousers can vary from very slight to very great. I take it that there's a cotton section in each arm pit?

As far as I remember from when I was in the Army, yes.
We actually got those issued for winter wear in the mid 1980's. Never froze despite temperature hitting -37.

K4 Umea/ Arvidsjaur 1979 - 1982 here.
In case of war my unit would be issued those if the war started before 1985 or so, then our Mob forrad got those replaced with all - M59 Falt.
All soldiers had to wear the M39 (which is very similar, visually at least), for one week long exercise in summer and one week long exercise in winter.
Everybody hated them.
We had problems regulating the body temperature. And we hated the smell of the preservative.

Yes, 100% prime wool. Of a quality you will not find today.
