Swedish army trangia + gas adapter

Has anybody tried the M 40 swedish army trangia mess kit with the trangia gas burner in the windshield? What are your impressions and thoughts experiences. Thinking about this set up for rapid use when the stainless steel copy by Pathfinder comes on the market.

Last I remember the trangia burner in the M40 is larger than the civilian trangia so it might well be the gas burner wouldn't fit securely in it.

From what i can see, the trangia gas burner needs to sit in the burner hole in the bottom windshield base. With the Swedish army stoves, the burner sits directly on the floor (at least mine does), so not sure the gas burner would have any means of support.
Really looking forward to getting my hands of one of the new pathfinder stoves as well, much better with an open fire.

Dave Canterbury at Pathfinder has been developing a modern version in SS. Not available in the UK yet (not sure about the USA). But looks like a pretty faithful copy. The Old issue ones in Ali aren't the best around a fire as they can distort if it gets too hot.

I've got both and used the aluminium version on open flames without any problems are you sure yours is a genuine pot as later shop bought set had reproduction pots made of thinner aluminium

Oh yes, mines a genuine one and i've never had a problem. Just heard stories that the aluminium can deform in the heat of an open fire. Hence why DC has done it in SS.

SS would be way too heavy.....never had an issue with genuine or repro. ally ones......and it is still heavy enough; started using instead a One Tigris titanium twig/trangia stove, lighter and fuel versatile?

Do you mean the ranger issue stove which is similar design to the civilian trangia

Just looking at mine you would have to make a holder for it maybe out of a tin can that it can snap into or try a stand alone remote stove under it with the pot stand removed either from the windshield or stove and make a hole for the regulator to slip through.
