Anyone know if there's a way to Roughly identify the date of manufacture of a Suunto Core all black watch? as I was lucky enough to buy 1 recently 2nd hand.
As I've tried contacting them directly and no luck as of yet.
I've had a google
Cheers

According to google "The manufacturing date of a Suunto device can be found in the device's 12-character serial number. The first two digits of the serial number indicate the year, and the following two digits indicate the week of the year when the device was manufactured. "

Mine is 1543 which seems to match my own manuf and purchasing date.

It's on the caseback near the lugs to stop it being abraded away

Thanks Chainsaw,
I bought an Ambit Peak 3 secondhand to try some of this new tech stuff. I've managed to register it and get the 2018 update, but there will be no further updates on this model/age.
(using your advice mine is 2014, week 35 which was about the end of August)

I haven't yet managed to puzzle out how to log a route etc with it yet, but have downloaded the manual, and still trying. I've also got the heart rate monitor accessory.
