Hello

I have not been able to get out since March, is there a meet planned for October or November? I cannot do the weekend of 25th/26th November.

Regards

Luke

Broadstone Warren has effectively said they don't want to host the Sussex meets anymore.

The are asking for £100 per night minimum pitch fee and the names of those attending in advance.

I have offered to host meets in my woods near Arundel. £5ppn

There maybe other options for the Sussex meets I haven't spoken to David as he was on his holidays.

I need to get out to another one of these for sure. Myself and Adrian was the only guys that turned up at the last one, the ranger was being a bit funny.
I felt that we were being picked on for silly things, although we took it with a pinch of salt.

Hello. I have been off on holiday in the US & very busy with work. As Wayne has said, they basically don't want us to use Broadstone Warren in the future and have decided to price us out of the place by chaing a minimum of £100 per pitch per night.

I will catch up with Wayne and see if we can get a meet setup at his woods in Sussex, which a few miles west of Arundel. It is likely to be in the new year, now that Christmas is upon us in a matter of weeks. I will put up a thread here once I have some more news.

Glad you had a good Holiday David.

Im pleased that the folks may want to consider using my woods.

There is is a bit of a walk in across a field but we have a semi permanent camp in place and I’m keen it’s used as I primarily use other locations for my courses.

Im focussing more and more on specialist courses rather than generic bushcraft.

There is plenty of scope for a wide range of bushcraft activities form just having a social to developing the area in a prefect camp site for the Sussex Meets as you guys see fit. So if you wanted to spend a day or two constructing shelters etc and trying out ideas as long as youre not felling my standards I see it as adding value to my site. If you want to improve the knife and axe throwing areas we can.

Let me know what you want and we can try and come up with a solution.

Would be great to get a regular group up to 20 or so folks.

Children are welcome. Usual rules apply. Parents are responsible for their welfare at all times.

Dogs. I am very dog friendly so well behaved hounds are welcome. Mine aren’t so they are unlikely to be present.

Such a shame that Broadstone Warren have done this - I wonder why the change of heart?

Arundel is easy for me to get to - I would be interested in a meet there. Hope to see something arranged for the new year.

That's a great offer, for which many thanks. I'm definitely interested. I'd be very happy to help with a throwing space and to contribute in any other way too. In terms of activities I fancy doing some cooking that doesn't involve boil in the bags!

Is there any life left in the parachute we group-bought?

I haven't been out in ages and am not sure when that will change at the moment, but I've been down to Arundel and I don't remember it being a bit stretch for me.

I wouldn't mind popping over for a night at some point. I'm only down the road just north of Chichester.

I'm not very bushcrafty, a firelighter and Bic is my idea of getting the fire going, but I do love to be out.
