Simple courrans are always interesting. So are pouches, and their contents.

Sally in Wales (Sally Pointer, you can find her on Youtube these days) has a really good tutorial on simple shoes that would do fine for Iron Age. Sally's sound, and her stuff is always interesting

So I need a list of things to make

The simplest thing for kids is a purse ... basically cut the leather into a circle, punch a circle of holes, then two draw "strings" ... with an ornamental bead either side. I'm sure this is the origin of the sporran, and, with a more complex design it does turn into a sporran.
