Now Genuine Army Surplus has stopped doing their £4.99 Ration Packs, does anyone know where you can get a sub £10 pack?

(Mods, if you think this should be in the Resources section, please bounce it)

They're being clamped down on as any new style rat pack has been nicked from military stores.
MOD Plod are and have been doing the rounds so please watch where you buy them from.

Thanks Toddy, that’s what I thought :)

And thanks for the info Nat, I emailed Genuine Army Surplus and got a curt “no” in reply so possibly that is the reason they have stopped. Having said that, all the ones I’ve bought in the past from them have been a few years old. I’ve heard tell of the new issue ones but as yet I’ve not heard what the differences are, does anyone have a list or link?

Cheers for your help,

Andy

I was after complete packs, and they are sealed to be heated in water or opened and heated in a pan, no need to add water (apart from the drinks :) ) or you can eat them cold, but you wouldn't want to!

Are these 'Add water, stir, leave for X minutes and eat' meals, or do they need to be heated/cooked first?

No they are wet meals , or at least the ones I bought were, they are just the mains out of the 24 hour packs as far as I can tell. look at the options an compare with the 24 hour menus.

Tanfield food produce 'look what we have found' and their food is fantastic and they do an excellent range. Their factory is right next door to the factory that my work owns :D

I have a load of the new rat packs and the main difference is the meals they now offer inside them. Some of the sundries have changed, you get jam and yeast extract in a tube. The chocolate has been changed so it doesnt melt as easy under heat ie Afghanistan.

If anyone has any questions regarding them I will be happy to answer them.
