Start of a new Kuksa.

found a big 18 inch diameter silver birch down in the woods,i prefer this sized logs as i can exclude all heartwood witch usually cracks on me,hope to be finished this evening,then re-cut tool finish after a couple of days drying.

That looks just like my Kuksa! I made the mistake of bringing mine indoors after I hollowed the bowl and a crack started which promptly got superglued and clamped and sent back to the garage!!

birch is not my first choice but tradition dictates.

all finished now just need to let it sit and dry for a bit,probably close to a week if i can keep my hands off it.
