Is it? Never seen seen this stuff before, so took a photo.

Found on a steep bank in a deciduous woodland (ancient woodland, if that is relevant).

Took a wild guess that it was a stonecrop of some sort, and came up with St Patrick's Cabbage, Saxifraga spathularis. Not in flower yet, but getting there.

Opinions?

I almost sure I have seen this plant on a number of occasions in the past but my books of wild flowers don't list it. I have an idea I saw it in people's gardens. An Internet search on Saxifraga spathularis tends to confirm your thinking about what it is - I'd put my money on Saint Patricks Cabbage too. Or at least an escaped garden variety of it.

Thank you. Given how remote from just about anywhere this was, I doubt it is a garden escape, although a result of fly tipping is a possiility I suppose.
