Starting a thread about this year's event. I have a ticket. Never been before. Anyone else going? What can I expect? I know there's been some discussion about this event on here since the early days. So looking for any advice to get the most out of it! Thanks.

I’m going as a volunteer again this year after having a great time last year!
Expect great atmosphere, lots of nice, friendly people with axes and knives, great food thanks to Barn the Spoon and Robin Wood, loads of classes & workshops on everything spoon related. Good beer too.
Some classes are free, some aren’t. Take cash to pay for those & maybe buy the odd axe or knives.
Mobile phone reception is pretty much nil, which is nice too. The camping field is huge and has plenty of loos.
It’s a great weekend in a beautiful place with lots of lovely people.

If anyone is planning on driving down from the Lakes or Scotland I’m very interested in a carshare. Otherwise I’ll be going to Edale by train.
Obviously happy to share fuel costs by car.
