Sound editing anyone ???

Help! I'm starting to make videos using moviemaker - fine so far - but I need to edit the soundtrack I just made and cannot see a way to do this in that prog. Is there a way? Or does anyone use a sound editing prog? Presumably I could hitch a soundtrack onto moviemaker OK, like it was music ???
