Well anyone who manages to get out today....HAV FUN!

Hey hobbitbot, sorry you are stuck indoors. I know how lousy it feels, when your mind wants to be off out but your body's stuck at work! But try to look on the bright side - you've got time to work on your skills ;-) ... you can practise many aspects of bushcraft whereever you are...

- For instance sitting still and being quiet is good mental practice for tracking. Also, walking softly and without making a sound.

- Work on your awareness too - work on expanding your peripheral vision, or close your eyes and try to remember how many red things were in front of you, then look and see how many there really were. Try it with different things ... cube shapes, metal objects etc. It will make you much more aware, so that next time you're out you'll appreciate it so much more (and not just bcoz you've been stuck indoors! ;-) )

- Watch customer's footsteps (& prints - when it's been raining outside) notice how far apart they are, angle, stride length.

- Planning your ideal kit list!

- Get/make some tree/plant/animal/tracking flashcards and keep them in your pocket ... pull out a card when no one's looking and identify the picture.

Anyone got any other bushcraft pass-times they use? :-D

Practice tying knots & braiding , all you need is a bit of string or some cord.

I do too much internet searching for bushcrafty things too.
