Is there an English word for the wood "chip" produced by a knife, axe or plane; we have a specific word for that "lastu". Like we have a word "kiehinen" meaning a feather stick or fuzz stick for starting a fire.

I guess a Knife could generate a " Sliver "

An axe a " Chip " or " wedge "


Planes tend to produce " Shavings "

Probably a lot more words out there.
