Solar Chargers

not much sun in the UK but anyone any experience with them over here? are they pretty useless in anything other than clear direct sunlight?

what about something like this, seems to have a bit of oomph to it, would need own battery to store it of course but there are USB ones available

I use them a fair bit at home and always take a small unit when im away. Have a look over in the brighta and gadgets section for some recent discussion
