A soapwort decoction helps itching skin, especially related to Jaundice, it is in fact useful in treating jaundice as well. It is considered to be tonic, diaphoretic and alterative (known incorrectly as blood cleansing), It appears to be very useful for rheumatism and other arthritic conditions but it can cause some upset because of the high saponin content, and I'd recommend finding a good herbalist if you feel you would need to use it so you can get correct dosage for it.

Anywhere it can get it's roots down and keep them moist tbh.
It survives happily in my heavy clay soil that was frozen solid for months this Winter.

Do you want some ? I'll dig you up some bits of roots if you like ?
It becomes a straggly messy kind of plant. I quite like having it around but it spreads and it's not a full on flowery kind of garden plant.

cheers,
Toddy
