I want / need a small free-standing tent. It has got to be able of not needing pegs to hold it up. It is going to be mainly used on concrete surfaces.
I would prefer it to be a "fly and inner" type as well

the new pop up tents are dead easy...2 seconds to put it up 15 seconds to put it away...works OK on concrete but would need some rocks around the guys if there was wind. The first ones were at decthlon though gelert and lots of others are doing them too now. The only draw back is they don't fit in a pack, packed up they are a flat disc about 3 foot diameter, cost about £30-£40.

Yup - I'll second that. I have one from Deacthlon that I use as a base camp tent for alpine climbing and they are very good for the price.

Just missed out mate, sold my Mountain Hardwear Thur-Hiker for that sort of money yesterday! Free standing (Geo' frame, etc) and mountain proof and packable to boot!!
Keep checking on classifieds as they do come up from time to time. In mean time happy hunting. ;)
Cheers,

I'll third it. We've got one that we used as an overnight in France. They really are quick and easy. Though awkward to carry if you're backpacking I can imagine.
