Gomboy 240-10 vs gomboy outback 240-8.

Is it really 20 pounds better? Differences, curved blade, different handle material and slightly larger teath.

Cheers

I have a Gomboy 170 and a Sugowaza 420 (fixed blade) so not the saws in question. Silky are an awesome saw and are worth the money. I would say the curved blade would suit more if it was just cutting straight through wood. The straight blade would be better for more precision tasks associated with wood craft. It is just easier to keep the cut even, a curved blade can sneak lower on one side of a cut so needs extra care.

Indeed:
Straight for precision, concave for speed.
These saws are constructed for professional tree climbers, and if you are highly payed to cut wood the whole day and do it often in a rather unpleasant position it's worth every cent.

For recreational camping you usually don't need a saw at all. So, get what you want.
