Sheepskin boot liners

Hello all,

Being the ever forward thinker, I had the idea of getting some sheepskin bootliners for my riggers (which are spacious enough to take such an insert) for when it gets nippy.

Finding these is easy, they're all in the US and quite affordable (£50 delivered and made to measure)

Now, I don't mind buying from the US, but in such national economic times I'd like to find a UK company / trader / granny that make the same thing. Surely there must be a cottage industry out there that make liners? I thought if anyone would know, you lot would

I mkae my own from the remnants from the commercial manufacture of fleece rugs.
Basically, in stead of skinning the sheep they use the fleece and it's woven/bonded onto a washable backing.
Then the backing is stiffened and the sheepskin shape is cut out. All the offcuts are bagged up and sold to craftworkers.

The pile is about 2" thick and I generally have to trim it down to a couple of cms. However, it's lovely to wear, hardwearing *and* it's washable.


DIY is the way to go
