Hi Guys,
A while ago I was given a William Rogers I Cut My Way knife by dad. He gave it to me and told me about how my grandad used to use it when he was out hunting and fishing. I have cleaned up the blade and intended to continue to use it has he did.

The only problem is the original leather sheath that the knife is in is looking abit worse for wear now. I am thinking about making a new more practical one but have never done leather work before.

What Im wondering where is the best place to get some leather from?
What kind of leather should I use, thickness etc?
Does anyone have any hints, tips or pointers to help me out?

Le prevo, The Identity Store, Tandy and ebay to name a few and in no particular order or preference either

2.5mm-3.5mm is usually used in sheaths. As for type most folks use veg tanned

There's a lot of videos on Youtube that can help you out as well as tutorials on here for how to go about it,

You haven't asked it yet but as for what kit you need the search facility on here turns up a lot of threads all asking the same question.
