Thanks guys. Really important to keep the forests public too. The one near me's going to be sold by the looks of things. I'm just hoping my savings will be enough to buy a large chunk of it if worst comes to worst, so it can be kept as open woodland.
I have no idea what kind of work needs to be done maintainance wise on a decirous woodland, but I'd rather know it was in safe hands.
What a world eh?

as far as i know the maintainence is mainly stuff like keeping it off roads, keeping hte fire breaks cleared and overseeing the timbre cycle.

this is probly gona be a bit of both good and bad news, depends on the buyers, im sure plenty of owners will see the money to be made charging bushcrafters to use their land, could help give us more freedom with it being private land.

Ah, I'd be happy to do that myself then to be honest, or offer up the area for free bushcrafting on the proviso of "if you fancy clearing it up for me, that'd be great".
Course, I'd never stop people walking on it anyway, not that kind of person.

I missed out, due to needing surgery yesterday, otherwise I'd have been there erecting shelters and running a bushcraft demonstration.
