Indeed, having one myself , the plus with the cotton inner of which I bought as soon as it came out, what would you say the drawbacks are?Hi Andy, I have a Spacepacker+, but it was very well used back in the day. I really wouldn't trust it enough to pass on. I might venture it in the garden to test one night this summer.... Great tent despite some drawbacks...
Not built for snow, mine quite early on in it's life spent a night on Y Lliwedd. By morning it was all still and cozy but exceedingly cramped as the night had pretty much turned the tent into a plastic lined snow cave. But yeah to remember it didn't do well with beam winds but always sprang back up, even when an out of control tractor ran over it.Mine is still going strong after probably 40 years. With a little care they last well; they're very robust. A decent weight for a two-man tent, plenty of room, separate doors for the occupants so no crawling over each other to get out. I've used mine in quite severe conditions (white out gales on top of the Glyders) and they survive well if properly pitched. However, side to the wind and they have a tendency to buckle if you don't add guys to the apex.
