Sacrilegious Kent pattern re-shape and hang

Hi folks,

A good while back I picked up an old, and I mean OLD, forged Skinner & Johnson Kent pattern axe.

For a while it sat unused & unmolested until I initially put a single bevel on its very thin profile.

I was never really happy with that though, and I was,if I'm honest, nervous about using it with such a thin and delicate edge.

So I decided to do something quite drastic, but desirable, at least to me, which would make me happy to pack and put to use (on those rare occasions I'm allowed out).

Here we are then, finally some pics, which will explain what I made of this fine old hand forged old head.



Finally hung it today, trying to copy the original profile of the handle, and gave it a rub down with birch tar and BLO.

Hope to whip up a sheath for it and give it a whirl at the weekend, see how edge and eye hold up.
