It was the first good day for a while, i had a new knife to use, so off
across the fields to the woods, but first i had to cross the stream".
Some nice blue sky for a change.
A 30 minute walk brings me to the woods.
And in a couple of minutes more, i'm at my retreat.
Local wild life had left me a present.
So, to the knife, it is the passaround, very kindly provided by Karl-Erik
Lindblad. It came in a very well made sheath.
A few knifey shots, to wet your appetites.
To give you an idea of the knives size, here it is flanked by a woodie clone
& a sak farmer
I used the knife for a number of camp tasks, such as, shaving kindling
Peeling the bark from this branch, so it can dry out for use later.
Used to carve a pot hanger.
A very "rustic" fork/spatula thingy.
Apot hook to lift the lid from the billy can.
I really liked the size & shape of the blade, it allowed me to work holding
the knife by the blade, for finer work such as the tines of the fork.
At first i thought the handle to short, but changed my view to a positive
one once i'd used the knife for carving. The handle shape suited me, fitting
my hand well, with the scales giving a good grip.
I liked my time with this knife, & was sorry to have to post it on. I had a
good day out, got to use a fantastic knife, had a great steak, what more
could a man want ?.
Oh yeah, make sure you wear gloves when lifting the billy can from the fire,
i hate to think what it would have done to my fingers otherwise...
