I have just been given an old leather satchel, it is supple enough still, but to say it is well creased would be an understatement, it certainly has more lines on it than my well used face.

So far all I have done is to give it a good coat of shoe polish, but is it possible to restore the surface of the leather to a smoother finish, or is that a lost cause?

Some neatsfoot oil and a light wax is all it should need. The creases are the character that come with old leather, enjoy them :)

:jacked::sad6: Is it possible to shave off some of the leather, if you hammered a stamp on it which came out wrong? And then buff it back up or something?

It's not thick enough to shave and the wrinkles are too deep
