Would charcoal briqettes do if ground up to a powder or does it need to be of the natural wood variety.
How does the charcoal make resin into a glue, anybody know?
Ian.
Well charcoal briqettes dont work. Also added some beeswax tried to glue two small slivers of wood together, but this morning they just pulled apart. So called glue was just very brittle. What amI doing wrong?
Ian.
First off, I should say that Ive never tried to make glue but my understanding is that the charcoal tempers the glue i.e. makes it less brittle so if you dont use charcoal the glue will dry hard like glass - and break just as easily.
Im sure someone will come along soon and correct me but thats my 2ps worth
