Hello, I recently got my hands on a used large ALICE pack which has seen quite a few heavy miles!
I assume it has seen some seawater as well, since snaps, and "tensioners"? and the powdercoated frame are developing some corrosion.
does anyone here know where to get new "tensioners"? (or whatever they are called.)

Have a good look on ebay. Start by using 'metal ladder lock' as your search term and you'll find loads of variations on basic metal webbing fittings. Good luck with your search.

Why don't you just clean them?

I think if it's in use the rust will not continue.

Can't quite tell but that left image looks like the metal buckle is stitched on?

So if want to replace it without cutting through stitching going to need hardware with split bars, sometimes known as field replaceable.

ITW Nexus make plastic split bar ladder locs, but not seen metal ones.

No, idea. I don't own it.

But I have my experiances with such stuff.

Clean it, oil it a bit and let it how it is.

Such stuff is incredible long lasting constructed. There is no reason to change anything.
