Just to share one of my local secrets as a new boy, i buy leather offcuts of various sizes (up to pretty big) from the UK Hide company. Their main lines are full hides for car interiors, but they have a good stock of other leathers, and the guy who runs it is quite happy to sell off bundles of good sized offcuts for very reasonable (cash) prices. Almost everything i have made has been based on these pieces - quivers, possibles bags, string keepers, medieval purses etc. highly recommended, but always call before visiting.
