re-stringing a canoe seat?

I've had a look around the interweb but come up blank, so:

does anyone know of a site or maybe even a book that gives instructions on how to re-string, cord/rawhide canoe seats?

Building a Strip Canoe by Gil Gilpatrick -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Building-Strip-Canoe-Gil-Gilpatrick/dp/0899333494 has all the details on making a caned canoe seat. It's a bit expensive though - Google says that there's a second edition though http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9781565234833/Building-a-Strip-Canoe which is cheaper.
