Ration packs

Don't bother. You're getting ripped off. Its illegal to sell official mil rat packs. The ones you buy are civvie versions and 4x the price.

While it may be illegal to sell official rat packs outside of the MOD logistics system I can't help but think there is just too many examples out there of available Rat packs to civvies that turn up and are purchased that there are either waaayyyy too many hookey QM's or that as a law its more a potential inferred deterrent as opposed to an enforced one.

Or it maybe one of those weird laws where its deemed illegal to sell but to not purchase or possess.

Ooh, expencive. Here they cost about 7-8 euros. Yeah tasty they are. I have some years ago lived three days on those Blå Band meals, spent three days and two night on an island.

There are absolutely loads of military rations available. Similar to the ‘Multipack Can - Not For Resale’ cans of pop at the local shop, the MOD warnings on ration packs don’t seem to have stopped them getting onto the market in huge numbers.

Hopefully the MOD are selling off older stock and recouping some money. Would be a real waste to just condemn them to landfill.

I liked the bla band meatballs but didn’t find it as spicy as review had claimed. Expensive but large portions.

Unfortunately rat packs do get dumped. A mate of mine on exercise last year ended up with a pallet that was just going to be chucked. He took them to his unit so they weren’t wasted.

Vestrey do sell the same spec meals to the commercial market.

Yep. Once issued they aren’t returned to store as storage conditions once issued can’t be guaranteed
