Has anyone got one? What do you do with it?

Im asking this as my Tutor has one and is using it for various technical applications. This term is all about technology.

Today we were learning about graphics, their manipulation and matrices.

Everyone is traumatised but its certainly interesting.

Seems they are pretty good for connecting upto the TV to get masses of online tellybox stuff.

Never tried it though.

I have mates that love them, you can do a lot with them, apparently, apart from hardware intensive ( gfx etc ) stuff ?

I have one, runs some relays (switches) to power up my dev lab at home for work..

Also planing on replacing my old alarm clock with one that can stream some music rather than the crap that is on the radio nowadays.

I have one running xbmc (need to update) I use mine to access films and play music on my TV, Its connected up on my home network with a share off my NAS drive.

same as probably most people, i use mine with kodi to stream stuff to me tv, but me brother uses his as a security cam.

i plan on getting one of these to control my future pico-brewery. something that will control heat and time and maybe some actuators.

not planed it all out yet though

they are also good for turning regular tvs or computer monitors into 'smart TVs'

Have a look on Pinterest or Instructables. There's a wealth of information and tutorials. A lot of folk say it's easier to list what you CAN'T do with one
