Does anybody know the breaking strain of 9mm and 5mm purlon?

Hi there, if you are referring to anything branded as Trac-pac, Mil-Com, Web-tex etc (which is the mainstay of what ive seen for sale on-line) then the simple answer is No. Not even the supplier knows! I get asked this question alot and asked them for some technical info and they havent got any!

All i can say is its strong stuff but wouldnt use it for any major load bearing tasks were safety could be an issue

Cheers,

Andy

Perhaps if you asked for the breaking strength instead of the breaking strain, you would get a better answer.

Strain is the amount something has stretched compared to its original length. and is a not a measure of force but of distance.

you want to know the maximum strength before it breaks.

(I am a material scientist :D, just being picky)
