I recorded this character at extreme range (about half a mile away) last year as I walked off South Shields pier, after a charva dodging session, (aka mackerel fishing)

There's usually two of them in the small boat featured, yarking the odd handful of salmon in but this time, the one time that I've seen that they've got something worth talking about, the poor buxxer was on his own, while his "pal" stayed on the bigger boat, about half a mile away,eating bacon sarnies and drinking tea!

Oooh me heart!

He really did get a good catch there. I counted about 8 into the boat during the clip and he had plenty more to land
