Primus 96 Problems

Wotcha chaps.
OK here's the gen. I recently purchased a 96 primus and after replacing the pump washer I have it working after a fashion. However the problem I would like to solve is this the stove does not hold pressure well. It keeps requiring top up pumping every three to five seconds to keep the flame up. I think this is being caused by a leak from the small pressure release screw as I have noticed some paraffin bubbling out round this when in use. Should there be a washer fitted to this, or is it possible to improvise one?

Thanks in advance

The pressure release screw is a brass-on-brass seal and doors not use a washer. There might be some crud in there stopping it from sealing so give it a good clean. If you can take it out, look for damage to the surfaces. Replacements are easy to get hold of if it comes to that.
