pocket knife

i found this pocket knife in the back of a drawer of an old dresser that i was given. it's lovely knife to use, i really like this style of blade (warncliffe i believe), it's really easy to keep properly sharp. i've never really carried it a great deal because as you can see from the first couple of pictures the scales were about knackered. with current police attitude towards sharps i decided it was about time i had a slip jointed folder for EDC, so, decided to put some new scales on this little folder.
i used some apple that i've got laying around, oven dried because i'm sometimes impatient, glued onto the scales with a two-part epoxy. i decided to just cover the pins with the scales as i wanted the knife to be a little bit chunkier than it orignally was. as always, everything was done with hand tools, and the finish is just some boiled linseed oil.

i'm pretty sure that the last three are all after oiling, but i could well be wrong.

Looking at the scales I would have preferred a darker oil to bring the grain out but it's horses for courses.

i couldn't agree more mate but boiled linseed is the darkest oil i've got, owt else would break my £2 bushcraft budget!
the grain does show up a little bit better in real life, my photo's are never very good!

As said mate it's a gorgeous bit of wood, I'm sure theres a way of darkening oil naturally.

Will yo u be bringing it along to the next meet?, would love too see it in the flesh.

it's double what she used to allow me!

the grain is slowly darkening up with use, greasy hands i guess.

i don't tend to take it out when i'm camping, it's tiny and i'm bound to lose it, remind me though before the next time i see you and i'll bring it along for you to have a look at.
