Plastic solder reel

As above I'm after the reel that solder comes on but it must be either green or black.

Despite having used solder for over half a century I don't think I've ever seen a green reel, and the only black ones I've seen are very small. Are they what you want? I might have one kicking around somewhere but don't hold your breath. If you weren't so fussy about the colour it would be no problem to help you out.

Thanks for all those, unfortunately I'm after one without the solder as I do very little soldering and it would be pretty annoying to buy some and just have it hanging around! I didn't mean for you to buy one, I was just showing you the colours.

It seems to me that you would be better off making a spool. The inside diameter of the solder reels is quite big, that would be wasted space that could have cord in it instead and it would rattle around on the crab. If you made your own spool you could have it fit quite well on the crab so it would spool on and off well, and you could get more cord on the spool too.

Doh! I have seen green spools in a place I seem to spend far too much time and money in (Screwfix) and blackones in Maplins as well. My thought was to just cut along the side with a hacksaw and ease it onto the krab then the first couple of turns of cord would close the cut. That one should do nicely, what would you like swap wise? I can get hold of bits from ration packs or suggest something I may well have it!
