A quick reminder to all homesteaders to ensure that not only is there shade, breeze and water for all your livestock & pets but to do the same for greenhouses

I use old fashioned Windolene but a sheet or tarp helps. If there isn't enough ventilation, its easy to remove a few panes of glass. Damping the paths regularly provides evaporative cooling.

I'm sure everyone knows but I'd hate folk to lose a crop

My cauliflowers, meant for autumn eating are all bolting already. I'm watering early morning and evenings, I just can't get enough water to them.
Thinking of picking what is edible and freezing them tonight in case the rest bolt.
Start again with something else once the heatwave subsides.
