Wool is great for all sorts, but i don't believe there is just a single set of clothing which would suit year long use.
I agree there no single perfect set of clothes for every situation which is why there need to to be a degree of compromise when selecting just a single set for the whole year. I do think you could go a long way with having multiple layers of clothing for the winter and removing some or all of the extra layers as you go into the summer.

Two specific compromises which I was unsure about when deliberating my selection were:
1. How would a merino wool base layer top cope if it was your only thin top to wear in the summer months?
2. Would the lighter Keela Pinnacle jacket be a better option than the heavyweight Keela Munro? Sure the Munro works better in the thick of winter but it is much heavier than the Pinnacle which would be better for the other three seasons.

The wool thing is interesting for tops. Smartwool make 250gsm clothing which is like a light sweater - good for cool summer evenings or winter base layers. They make 150gsm clothing too. Their wool t-shirts at this weight feel pretty much like regular t-shirts. But they are also much better than cotton at regulating temperature and perspiration.

They also do an even lighter fibre which is blend of merino and Tencel; a cellulose fibre similar to rayon.

There's option. And I mean, no single item of actual clothing is going to survive daily wear for a year. So, I feel there is a bit of flex in the OP's initial ask re. replacebility.
