I'm going to have a go at making a sheath using leather for my Laplander. Does anyone have a patten or some helpful advice.

I suggest you make your own pattern. Using cereal packet type cardboard just fold some round your laplander, press it to shape and staple it in position till you get a good fit. You can then cut it to a pleasing shape, take it apart to make a yourself a flat pattern.

hope this makes sense - shout if you need clarification.

For what it is worth, and you can take it or leave it...

I would make it out of canvas with a leather belt loop and closure. Similar to the case for this...

You probably do not need to add fancy logos though...

I like using canvas for projects like this but recently Kepis made me a leather one and I'm well chuffed with it, go for leather.
