Based on the freely available material by the National Land Survey of Finland, I created a simple GIS model to show the distance to any paths or roads on the area of the Nuuksio National Park in Finland. It's quite interesting to know that even in next to the capital, one can wonder up to 700 meters away from the nearest path. The darkest red mark the distances between 600 and 700 meters from the nearest path (shown in black). The colour interval is 100 meters, the yellow colour marking the distances of 0 to 100 meters from paths. The vertical scale of the map is around 11 km.
