Pat 58 Water Leather Bottle Carrier

Thought I would make a water bottle carrier for my pat 58 water bottle as I hated having it in the DPM pouch attached to my trouser belt resulting in the trouser getting pulled down.

Now I had a look for a specific carrier for this bottle that would allow you to drink from it without taking it off but i didnt have much luck. So thought I may as well use up some leather to make one and here it is....


It still needs to be dyed and waterproofed but it sits fine and feels ok when carrying it either overhead or on shoulder.

Doesnt really hang that forward when carrying.

Nice item I'd rather have it on my belt though it looks like it would be easy to convert.

It's going to be difficult waterproofing it, especially the inside, you risk having a heavy & soggy dead thing hanging by your side should you use it in the rain......Have you put some drainage holes at the bottom ?

Springheel - I was thinking of adding a belt loop for it, just never got round to it but I was planning to add one.
blacktimberwolf - I wasnt sure waterproofing it will work especially if water runs down the inside, may just have to be a dry weather thing.

Thats brilliant a brilliant idea, I like it alot.
I think waterproofing is still a good idea, i get water inside my leather boots all the time, it aint no thang. Id' treat it inside and out, if it gets wet, clean it, air dry it and treat it again (if even required)!
